Heading south…Austral
Our return from France, the plan was to put the cap on the Marquesas... but the wind is not favourable we decide to go to the South and the Austral Islands.

06 July 2018: We stop a few days on Raiatea time to do some shopping, review Jane and Marc (Ratafia) and continue our road to Bora Bora.
The wind is not really to the make you to go on Raiatea so we stay a few more days on Huahine to attend the opening of the Heiva, traditional cultural festival which takes place in July in the Polynesian archipelago. Songs, dances, Racing canoes, crafts or agricultural exhibitions are scheduled.
Before continuing to Moorea and Huahine we have to make a stopover in Papeete to repair our Gennaker, order a new lazy bag and see a bunch of friends...
The archipelago of Tuamotu islands located in the North West of the Gambier has about 76 atolls. The majority of the atolls is little or not all inhabited are dreaming over a, including us... So which one to choose? A North wind of 10 to 15 nodes being announced, We aim Amanu to 450 miles of Gambier.
After a few weeks of waiting, We retrieve the motor of the windlass in the village. We look forward to move a little, find our "sports" and introduce to Leslie and Vaughan( boat Off2C) the rich marine on the flats.
Nathalie's birthday approaching... but it won't be the only BBQ for the month of February 2018!
After six days of quiet navigation, We arrive in the Gambier archipelago lost in the middle of the Pacific. Tahiti is more of 1600 kilometers to the Northwest. We look forward to meeting our friends...
It is the island of Tahuata who was selected for the 11th Cultural Festival of the Marquesas, having the theme "growth of Marquesan culture" (HAATUPUAE I TE HAA EATA in Marquesan language).
