Last days in Tenerife
The 30 September we decide to leave our bay of Antequera. We set sail and sail along the east coast of Tenerife towards the South… looking for the next anchorage as pleasant as the one we leave.

Departure from Santa Cruz by car….direction the Orotava Valley. The road is quite winding and offers us beautiful mountain landscapes. The temperature drops rapidly , from 27° we go to 14° degrees, as we get closer to Mount Teide which rises to 3718m….Grrrrrr…..
Change“total” of scenery when arriving in the marina of Santa Cruz….. Intense traffic of cargo ships and ferries that dump swarms of tourists every day…..A few days were enough for us to make some minor repairs on the boat…and finally within an hour we go back to sea. Direction the Baya de Antequera…..You remember the anchorage “perfect” from…

Fast descent along the North East coast of Lanzarote (see photo of Nathalie at the helm who fights with the strong swell that comes to us from 3/4 back). Reading the Navigation Guide we decide to go to the old port of Arrecife away from cargo ships and fishing boat. The Guide explains…
It is the port and the only city of Graciosa. After a long walk in the sand we arrive between the white concrete blocks that are the bungalows of a tourist development. The streets are made of sand and construction machinery seems abandoned.
270 miles between Porto Santo and Graciosa. 40 hours of navigation near 7 average nodes… exhilarating! First fish caught. It looks like a very large mackerel or a small tuna from which we draw the fillets of red flesh and put them in the fridge with lemon juice and spices. Arrival with first light…
Arrival at night at the anchorage of Porto Santo (opposite the beach) with a few boats moored.!!!The next day direction the marina in annex where we carry out the customs formalities…and there surprise… The officials explain to us that this mooring is paid and that it is better to stay at the marina which costs less!!!!Weird, it smells “The scam”…
