Tuesday 25 November – After 2 days of sailing the wind brings us in front of the southern pass of Fakarava – famous place for scuba diving. In the pass, Tetamanu Dive Center offers exceptional dives, In particular that of the shark wall.
We anchor a little out of the way in front of motus and sandbanks![]()

Philippe, Motivated to experience thrills, registers with the diving club. At rising tide, The dive boat, takes them out of the pass in about twenty meters .... The visibility is exceptional and a hundred grey sharks are there.
We start by going with the flow, then in the middle of the pass we post ourselves behind a coral reef. Grey sharks come from everywhere and gather in the middle of the current… to form the famous "shark wall". We strive to make fewer bubbles so as not to disturb them. They are majestic in a slow-motion ballet. The most curious approach at a distance where we could touch them, plunge their shining eyes into ours... then go on their way. A great calm takes hold of me. I float weightlessly in an unreal world, Mesmerized and intoxicated by this sight and experience I could never have imagined.

Nathalie can't resist and she signs up for a first dive. She catches the virus... and in 2015 We will have to find a place where she can get a diving diploma.
The Tuamotu is also night outings on the motus, to catch the Kaveu ( the coconut crab) or on the flats by the ocean to find lobsters. We are forced to "bundle up" because of the "Nonos" who invade the coconut grove at nightfall... We come back empty-handed this time....![]()
